Blogging as Attorney Marketing By Bentley Tolk An internet marketing for attorneys strategy should be based primarily upon blogging. Most law firms currently have only static websites that fail to incorporate blogging or other Web 2.0 elements. Those lawyers and law firms that begin now to implement Web 2.0 strategies will have a huge competitive advantage. In moving to the world of Web 2.0, lawyers and law firms should start with blogging as their foundation. A law firm blog may be located on a sub-domain or separate page of the firm's current website. Alternatively, a lawyer or law firm may set up a separate blog that links to the firm's main website. The advantage to a separate blog can be in the domain name and title for a specific practice area. Such a blog can have search engine optimization advantages over time. The time is ripe for lawyers and law firms to set up blogs that will provide great search engine placement and establish the particular lawyer or law firm as a trusted expert in the subject matter of the blog.
